Our story: the desire and passion to still have a way to go
WHO WE ARE.
Unimpresa Spa is the result of more than six decades of passion, innovation and commitment to the construction industry, born from the dream and vision of Guido and Ciro Rainone in 1961. The company has spanned generations, evolving from a small family business to a world-class group, a leading player in the construction of complex infrastructures with great social impact. From the first works in Italy to impressive projects in Nigeria, Pakistan and South America, we have built thousands of kilometers of roads, highways, bridges, tunnels and urbanization systems on 4 continents, focusing on technical expertise of excellence and a constant search for innovation.
Throughout our history, we have distinguished ourselves by contributing to post-emergency reconstruction in Italy, carrying out vital projects after the Irpinia earthquake and the 1998 flood, and by supporting the development of the country's main arterial roads, with major works from the Salerno-Reggio Calabria to the freeway junctions in northern Italy. Since the 2000s, we have expanded our reach with urbanization works in Rome, Trentino, Sardinia and other regions, employing state-of-the-art techniques and sustainable materials that enhance the land and respect the environment.
Since 2017, Unimpresa Spa has embarked on a major phase of internationalization, with an operational office in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Here we have completed three major road and airport infrastructure projects, achieving Grade First Company status, the highest award for government contractors in the country. Our advanced technologies, such as mechanically stabilized walls and mobile material testing laboratories, have enabled us to deliver durable and sustainable works that are appreciated by local authorities for their quality and reliability.
Today, the second and third generations of the Rainone family, supported by an international team of experts, engineers and technical specialists, continue to push the boundaries of innovation, focusing on digitization of processes, sustainability and empowerment of young talent. We are proud to have a high percentage of women in key roles, both in our offices and on construction sites, reflecting our commitment to an inclusive and dynamic work environment.
Looking ahead, our goal is to continue expanding into new markets, with an eye toward Africa, the Middle East and Australia. Our mission remains to build infrastructure that improves the quality of life and connects communities, always with the same passion and dedication that has guided us from the very beginning, turning each project into a success story.
Mission
Since 1961, we have been passionately building roads to shorten distances, broaden perspectives and bring the future closer. We are a leader in the design and construction of large infrastructures with 60 years of experience in building roads, highways, bridges, junctions, tunnels, urbanization networks, water and sewage networks, airports and heliports on four continents.
UNIMPRESA SPA is headquartered in Naples and Salerno with an operational branch in Addis Ababa, and directly controls Ethiopian Unimpresa Construction Private Limited Company and Trans Water Well Drilling specializing in well excavation and water network construction.
Vision
After working for about 30 years on major public works in Italy, as of 2018 we have returned to the international scene as a major player in Ethiopia's public and private transport modernization plan, and we are working to be present in other African states, with the expertise and lacredibility gained from excellent partners in private companies and public institutions. But this is not an end point, of course. We wish, in fact, to take to the U.S. or Australia our ambition, experience, and passion for building roads that connect territories and people, opportunities and pro jects, present and possible futures.
